Daffodil Days

I have possibly gone daffodil mad. This year i think there must be more than usual, i keep noticing them everywhere, and keep meaning to write about them. I picked this bunch yesterday evening at home, they smell so lovely and fresh. When i stepped outside, the air was such a lovely temperature, and the hazy light smelt all bright and full.
I've decided that this weekend i'm going to take on the macaron challenge. I'm going to learn how to make them. I haven't challenged myself to bake something difficult or new in a long time, and i think it's long overdue. There will no doubt be photographic evidence of how i get on...unless it goes really badly.
Watch this bit of space.

Spring is Springing!

I have gone down south for a few days to visit my Grandparents in Suffolk. It was the nicest feeling this morning, waking up to nothing but blue skies and sun. It's only the 1st of March but spring is seemingly getting its act together. The garden here is absolutely beautiful, so after breakfast i went for a walk round to admire it. It's not too warm yet but when you stand facing the sun it's really lovely. A new addition to the garden (which i'd not seen until now) is the summerhouse at the bottom of the garden tucked away. It's got lovely floral cushions inside and is going to be fantastic in the summer as it really catches the sun.

I would love to spend a sunny afternoon hidden away in here with a good book and a cold glass of cloudy lemonade :]

Happy Flowers

Just wanted to share these with you. I was bought flowers yesterday as i'd received some bad news. It was such a thoughtful thing to do and i really appreciated it. My room is so much nicer for having them, they've really cheered me up.

Flowers

Flowers are something that never fail to brighten my mood, even when it’s rainy and windy outside. They somehow manage to make me feel better when I have them in my flat. My favourites are sweet peas but you don’t often find them in the shops to buy, so this week I’ve gone for some lovely purple irises with a jet of golden yellow down the middle. I arranged them in individual stems in empty Kopperberg bottles and lined them up on the windowsill in my kitchen. I love using empty bottles and jars as vases, especially if they’ve got labels or writing on them. I think they look a lot more natural. They really lighten up the room and make me smile whenever I come in.
