Weekend Yomps

Yesterday morning Big P and i had planned to go for a countryside yomp (yomp: enthusiastic walk, lots of arm swinging and kendal mint cake). The weather turned out to be fairly perfect (cold but dry) and despite feeling fairly full of cold, we set off up to our starting point, Teggs Nose. The route was to be a nice 9 mile loop that took us through Macclesfield Forrest, and up unnecessarily large hills. It stayed dry until the last mile, which incidently turned out to be very uphill, when it decided to hail. All in all a very nice, semi-demanding yomp that cleared the cobwebs and highlighted just how unfit father and daughter are.

Glasgow Snow

Quick visit up to Glasgow for a few days with Fran. On Tuesday morning we went for a frosty walk round Kelvingrove Park, which is 5 minutes from her flat. It was so pretty under a blanket of snow, although extremely chilly. It was nice when the sun came through the trees and warmed your legs a bit. Love love love Glasgow.

A Sunny Friday

After being kept awake for most of the night by the constant rain (i have a skylight in my bedroom, therefore rain is extra loud) i woke up this morning to an unfamiliar sight. It was blue skies and sun, and there was a lovely crisp breeze. Today was the first day of the year i have left the flat without a coat or scarf. Everyone at uni was in a good mood, and it was so nice to get down to some work with the sun coming through the big glass windows. When i got home the light was starting to fade and it was getting a lot colder but i didn't want to waste the opportunity for a sunny stroll round the park opposite my flat so i picked up the camera and headed straight down. I've posted some of the pictures of the lake in the middle of Platt Fields and a friendly goose. More days like this please :]
